Psalm 100 (ESV)
Enter His Gates With Thanksgiving
5 minute read
Psalm 100 was sung by worshipers walking toward the temple. Each step brought them closer to the place where God had promised to meet His people, and the song told them how to enter: with thanksgiving.
Gratitude is not a mood we wait for. It is a gate we choose to walk through. We thank God before we feel close, and thanksgiving carries us near.
The psalm gives three reasons: the Lord is God, we are His, and His love endures. None of these change when the week is hard or the table feels empty.
Today, practice entering. Before you ask God for anything, thank Him for three things by name. Notice how the room of your heart changes when gratitude opens the door.
Reflect
- What gate of gratitude have you been hesitant to walk through?
- Which of the psalm’s three reasons speaks to you most today?
- What three gifts can you name right now?
Pray
Faithful God, I enter Your presence with thanks. You are God, I am Yours, and Your love endures. Let gratitude lead me home to You. Amen.
