Matthew 6:25-34
Enough for Today
6 minute read
Jesus points anxious people toward birds and flowers. Neither stores a year of certainty, yet both live inside the Father’s attention. Creation receives what each day requires.
Worry tries to gather tomorrow before it arrives. It fills today’s basket with imagined needs, then tells us the weight is proof that we are responsible.
Jesus does not dismiss tomorrow. He places it back in its proper day. ‘Each day has enough trouble of its own’ is permission to carry only the grace and obedience assigned to now.
The October fields do not keep growing forever. They yield what this season holds, then become still. Receive today’s portion. It is enough because God is in it.
Reflect
- What need from tomorrow are you carrying today?
- What has the Father already provided for this day?
- What is the one act of faithfulness in front of you now?
Pray
Father, gather my attention back to today. Thank You for this portion of grace. Keep me from borrowing tomorrow’s weight. Amen.
