Isaiah 26:3-4

Peace in the Changing Light

5 minute read

October light does not stay where it was. Morning arrives later, evening earlier, and every familiar room looks a little different. Change can make the mind restless even when nothing is wrong.

Isaiah describes peace as the fruit of a mind ‘stayed’ on God. The word carries the sense of leaning, resting weight against something strong enough to hold it.

Peace is not achieved by solving every uncertainty. It is practiced by returning the mind to the character of God: everlasting, trustworthy, present.

When your thoughts race ahead, give them one place to land. Say what is true about God out loud. Let truth bear the weight your imagination has been carrying.

Reflect

  • Which change is making your mind restless?
  • What truth about God is strong enough to lean on today?
  • What simple phrase could bring your attention back to Him?

Pray

Everlasting Rock, hold my wandering mind. Let Your steadiness become peace within me as the season changes. Amen.
