The Seven-Day Sabbath Reset
Sabbath rarely appears by accident. This seven-day reset removes one obstacle at a time so rest can become received time rather than another performance.
Day 1 · Notice
Track where hurry enters your day without changing anything yet.
- Circle the hour you feel most rushed.
- Name the thought driving the hurry.
- Write what your body does when it cannot stop.
Day 2 · Clear
Remove one demand from your intended Sabbath window.
- Decline, move, or shorten one commitment.
- Choose what will remain undone on purpose.
Day 3 · Prepare
Do beforehand only what makes rest easier, not what makes the day impressive.
- Plan one simple meal.
- Put work tools out of sight.
- Tell the people in your home what you are practicing.
Days 4–6 · Receive
Practice three forms of rest before the full day arrives.
- Ten minutes of bodily rest.
- Ten minutes of delight with no outcome.
- Ten minutes of unhurried prayer.
Day 7 · Keep
Set apart a block of time for worship, delight, and release. Begin with two hours if a full day feels impossible.
The goal is not a flawless Sabbath. It is a recurring place where your life remembers it is held by God.
