Hebrews 4:1-11
Entering God’s Rest
5 pages · Web workbook
“For anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.”
Rest is more than stopping activity. Hebrews describes it as entering what God has already provided. Move slowly through the passage and notice where trust—not a lighter calendar—is the doorway.
1 · Read the promise
Read Hebrews 4:1-11 twice, marking every use of rest, promise, today, and faith.
What does the passage say is still available?
What kept the first hearers from entering?
What invitation is addressed to you ‘today’?
2 · Name your unfinished work
List what keeps telling you that rest must wait.
Tasks that are truly mine to complete:
Outcomes I cannot control:
Expectations I accepted without asking God:
3 · Find the trust beneath the pace
For each item, finish the sentence honestly.
If I stop, I am afraid that…
I keep working because I need others to believe…
God’s character answers that fear by…
4 · Practice entering
Choose one twenty-minute period this week to stop without earning it.
When and where will I stop?
What will I put away?
What truth will I repeat when guilt appears?
Rest becomes worship when stopping says, ‘God is still God while I am still.’
