There are mornings when the sun rises and we don't. The to-do list is waiting, the children are calling, the inbox is full — and our hearts feel like lead.
Lamentations was written from the rubble. Jeremiah sat in the ashes of a fallen city and still dared to write: 'His mercies are new every morning.' Not because the morning was easy. Because God is faithful.
The mercy you need today has already been prepared for you. You don't have to manufacture it. You only have to receive it.
reflect
- · What is making this morning feel heavy?
- · Where do you most need fresh mercy today?
- · What would it look like to receive — not earn — God's faithfulness right now?
a prayer
Father, meet me here in the heaviness. Remind me that Your mercy is new today, ready and waiting. Help me receive it with open hands. Amen.
